The face that kept turning up on the big screen during the 2026 FIFA World Cup did not belong to a player. It belonged to a 3-year-old.
Keyne is the half-brother of Spain forward Lamine Yamal, and over the tournament’s final weeks, he became one of its most-shared faces, mugging for the Jumbotron, wearing his brother’s No. 19 jersey and a blue ‘Paw Patrol’ hat in the crowd at MetLife Stadium.
He was born in September 2022 to Yamal’s mother, Sheila Ebana, who had separated from the player’s father. That leaves roughly a 16-year gap between them.
Cameras found him during the quarterfinal win over Belgium, pulling faces as Yamal watched on the Jumbotron and laughed.
He turned up again for the final, the 1-0 win over Argentina, and after the whistle, he was on the pitch as the team celebrated, a small figure in a big jersey, at one point trying on a police officer’s hat.
Fans made posters of him. FOX Sports ran the line that Yamal “might not be the most famous person in his family anymore.”

Yamal has talked about the bond warmly.
“My little brother means everything to me,” he has said, per NJ. “I’m in love with him; it feels like he’s my son.”
He has also said he is moved to see his brother, his mother and his friends happy and that Keyne himself has no idea why cameras keep finding him. “I don’t think he’s realized,” Yamal said. “He does what he does at home and when the camera is on him, he does something goofy.”
