On Thursday, October 29, the Memphis Grizzlies pulled out a win against the Portland Trail Blazers, with 19-year-old rookie forward Cameron Boozer racking up some very impressive stats in just his fifth game of the regular season.
With 18 points, 12 assists and 11 rebounds, Boozer not only had the best game of his career, but became the youngest frontcourt player to put up a triple-double, according to Sports Illustrated. He’s also the youngest player to record a triple-double in a game won by his team, according to NBA.com.
Per Yahoo! Sports, Boozer is the second-youngest player in all of the NBA to notch a triple-double — behind Oklahoma City Thunder backcourt point guard Josh Gidney, who was 19 days younger when he did the same in 2022. The outlet reports Boozer is also the second player to hit a triple-double before ever losing an NBA game, as the Grizzlies are now 5–0 this season.
Need more stats? According to the AP, he’s also the fifth player in NBA history to get a known triple-double in the first five games of his career.

“It took him long enough,” Grizzlies coach Tuomas Iisalo quipped after the game, The Daily Memphian reported via AP.
“It’s a great feeling,” Boozer also said of the win in a post-game interview, per AP. “Obviously last year was rough [for the team]. I wasn’t here, but to start the season 5-0, it’s a lot of fun to do this right.”
“We’re going to keep competing,” he continued. “Keep winning games and just give our fans something to root for.”
