Jason Kelce was forced to apologize after he made a second broadcasting faux pas in a week.
The former Philadelphia Eagles center, 38, retired in 2024, and he made his NFL Network debut on Sunday, October 4.
However, it wasn’t long before Kelce had to apologize to viewers after he referred to the Washington Commanders as their former name – the Redskins.
While analyzing a Commanders move during their loss to the Indianapolis Colts in London, Kelce said: “The Redskins right now doing a great job of not only staying tight, but making the play when the ball is in the receiver’s hand,” as shown in a video clip shared by MLFootball.
Kelce’s colleague Dave Pasch, 54, quickly corrected his faux pas.

The former Super Bowl champion asked what he’d done wrong, and Pasch told him about the name error.
Kelce added: “Oh my god, I almost made it out. Sorry Washington.”
The Washington franchise retired the name “Redskins” in 2020 because the term is widely classified as an offensive racial slur against Native Americans.
They were known as the Washington Football Team for two seasons, before officially adopting the name Washington Commanders in 2022.
Pasch admitted he, Kelce and their NFL Network costar Kurt Warner, 55, had “a gentleman’s bet” on which of the trio might call the Commanders by their old name by mistake first.

Kelce’s faux pas came less than a week after he made a hilarious slip of the tongue during halftime of ESPN’s Monday Night Football coverage on Monday, September 28.
“It’s 10-7. I feel pretty good going into the half,” Kelce said, as seen in a video clip shared by SportsRadio 94WIP. “We played really well offensively. We had opportunities. We shot ourselves in the foot, but we’ve moved the ball. We’ve ran the ball well. [Quarterback] Jalen Hurts is throwing the ball well.”
